Joseph Fenech
Joe founded GenOpp Capital Management in 2020 and serves as Chief Investment Officer. His specific responsibilities include oversight of stock selection, portfolio management, lead communications with portfolio companies, compliance, and marketing.
Joe has worked in the bank sector for twenty-five years as a research analyst, investment banker, board member, and entrepreneur. Prior to founding GenOpp, he worked as a senior research analyst at the leading investment banking firm serving the financial services sector, and was then recruited to a boutique firm where we served as Managing Partner, and founded an award winning1 equity research platform, overseeing a team of analysts and research coverage of over 125 banks nationwide.
Joe is frequently invited to share his insights with Boards’ of Directors, at industry conferences, and through various media outlets. In May 2023, he was elected to the Board of a $5 billion+ publicly traded bank. Joe is also the owner and principal of SMBT Consulting LLC, which provides financial sector research and consulting services to companies in the banking industry.
